Final message to the members of the Liverpool Royal Infirmary Nurses’ League.

Dear Friends,

At last we have completed the final arrangements for the closure of our beloved ‘Nurses League’ and it really is time to say farewell to you all.

I hope that many of you will have seen the letter from the Cavell Nurses’ Trust thanking us for our donation of £4849 to their funds. This represents the money left in our own ‘Benevolent Fund,’ together with funds remaining in our account after all other financial transactions were completed, and its comforting to know that it will be used to help our fellow nurses and midwives in financial need.

The committee did promise at the final Annual Meeting to arrange a mini reunion in October 2019 to enable us to keep in touch with old friends. The date is Friday 18th October at 2pm for afternoon tea in the Foresight Centre.

We have provisionally booked the lounge area for 40 people and will require names and the full cost of £17 from those wishing to join us. This amount covers the cost of the tea (£10) and room hire (£250)

Please email by 30th June if you wish to attend, and I will provide further details.

If there are a group of friends coming, please nominate one person to make contact and arrange to pay the money.

We have to complete the booking with final numbers by 31st August after which there can be no changes and no refunds.

From now on the League website will only be accessible to browse the historical content, but nothing new can be added to it and the old email account has been closed. It will  be on view until it is no longer visited.

I look forward to meeting up with friends again in October to maintain the spirit of comradeship which we have enjoyed for so many years as League Members.

With very best wishes to all our members,

Carolyn Rankine
