Thanks to Chris Gill (nee Allison) who has contacted the website to say the verse that the probationer Nurse was sewing in Casualty 1906 (on BBC TV in November and filmed at the Royal) is as follows:- Stephen Grellet (1773 – 1855) wrote the verse. Born in France as Etienne de Grellet du Mabillier he fled to France for the US and became a Quaker missionary. This has also been attributed to both William Penn and Mohandas Gandi. For those of you who don`t know Chris was part of October 1962 PTS – a very intelligent group don`t you think!!!
